Seems like just yesterday we were in disbelief that it was already 2012, and we were standing on the streets of London for World Pride 2012. As we wait with anticipation to see how Toronto handles the pressures of hosting World Pride in 2014, we already have another one to look forward to—Madrid. With a unanimous vote, Madrid was awarded World Pride at a delegate meeting in Boston, Massachusetts. “Our bid had the support of the MV&CB and all political groups represented on the City Council” said Ignacio Fernández, CEO of Madrid Visitors & Convention Bureau. “Madrid’s election means a vote of confidence for the ability of our city’s hotel and leisure infrastructure to hold such an important worldwide event.”
